1. REVISED FOR SPRING 2011.
2. Go to http://www.blogger.com/
3. Follow their instructions for setting up your own blog.
4. Write down your blog address, password, ID, etc. where you can find it(!)
5. List your blog's address (URL) in D2L's e-college Blog discussion room by the due date (see D2L's calendar).
6. Set up a “Following” gadget (to help you get more readership): 1. Go to “dashboard” area of your blog (See top right). 2. Click on the “Design” tab at the top. 3. Follow the instructions to add a "Followers" gadget to your blog.
7. Set up AdSense on your blog (to earn money) 1. Go to "Dashboard" on your blog at top right, 2. Click on the "Monetize" tab at the top, 3. Follow instructions to add AdSense ads to your blog
8. Post at least 1 new message a week in your blog through February 19 (4 in total). Note: 4 posted in one week earns only 60% of the total points.
9. Post at least 1 message a week to two classmate’s blogs through February 19. (Their URLs are in the discussion room.)

The only acceptable topic for your blog is to market/promote something. Some possible choices include:

• Yourself as an expert on something
• A friend or family member as an expert on something
• A sports team you are on, or one you follow. (Yes, you could do one on the Sixers or the Steelers)
• A club you belong to
• A non-profit you care about

WARNING: Anything you post online anywhere may be found years from now by a potential employer or mate who Googles you. Don’t risk a great job or romance by being stupid. I’ve watched employers do just this & discard candidates because of what they find.
